COGAT pledges: Procedures and protocols will be posted to website within six months

In Gisha’s Freedom of Information petition to the Tel Aviv District Court sitting as the Court for Administrative Affairs, the court was asked to instruct the office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) to make the protocols and procedures governing its operations available to the public.

On December 3, 2014, In accordance with the court’s decision on November 19, 2014 (Hebrew), the counsel for the respondents submitted the their response, which includes a plan detailing the preparation work necessary for updating and publishing COGAT’s procedures.

According to the respondents’ submission (Hebrew), some 60 hitherto unpublished procedures and protocols are expected to be published in both Hebrew and Arabic. The response also details the schedule for updating and publishing the protocols over the next six months. This process will include three phases – about 10 procedures and protocols will be published by February 4, 2015. Approximately 25 will be published by April 4, 2015 and an additional 25 will be published by June 4, 2015.
