Israel allows 30 Gaza students to travel abroad for their studies
March 2, 2015. Yesterday, Israel permitted 30 students from the Gaza Strip to exit the Strip via Erez Crossing en route abroad. Most of the students study in universities in Algeria and Tunisia. Sources in the Palestinian Civil Affairs Committee in Gaza say that Israel announced it would allow 30 students to travel abroad from Gaza every week.
The Palestinian Ministry of Interior has told Gisha that 890-1000 individuals registered as students are on the waitlist to exit via Rafah Crossing on Gaza’s Egyptian border. The crossing has been closed since January 22.
