There’s no hunger, but there’s also no money to buy food

July 17, 2014. In an interview for the prime time Israeli news program “London and Kirschenbaum”, on Channel 10, Iman Jabbour, research director at Gisha, said: “We hope, that after the war there won’t be a return to a ‘humanitarian minimum’ policy [for the transfer of goods to and from Gaza]”.

“Israel limits the entrance of goods [into Gaza]. It only allows goods that are essential for the civilian population – like basic products and fuel – but no other products to enter. There’s no hunger, but there’s also no money to buy food. There are no salaries, and international aid organizations also help prevent hunger [in the Strip]”.
