Rafah Crossing operating under restricted conditions

September 29, 2013. Rafah Crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip opened for travel yesterday following eight days of closure. It remained open from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and was opened again today.

The crossing is operating under restricted conditions, allowing passage to Egypt for patients with official referrals, foreign passport and residency holders and students. Rafah is also due to be open tomorrow. On Wednesday and Thursday, the crossing is due to allow passage of individuals going on pilgrimage to Mecca.
