Rafah closure: His brother got married in Amman, he stayed in Gaza

Since July 5, following events in Egypt and instability in the Sinai desert, travel through the Rafah border crossing has been restricted. Given the access restrictions imposed on the Gaza Strip by Israel, Rafah is Gaza's main connection to the outside world.  Students, medical patients and Gaza residents who need to go abroad cross into Egypt through Rafah. However, during the month of July, travel through Rafah, in both directions, dropped by 60% compared to the monthly average during the first six months of 2013. More than 10,000 Palestinians who needed to travel remained stranded    in the Gaza Strip. We interviewed a few of them.
