Kerem Shalom Crossing reopened after being closed yesterday
June 26, 2012. Kerem Shalom Crossing, used for the transfer of goods to and from the Strip, was opened this morning. Yesterday, the crossing was closed following the firing of mortar fire on the crossing. Israel announced that the crossing would remain closed as long as mortar fire continued.
Rafah Crossing was opened yesterday and more than 1,000 people crossed from Gaza into Egypt. Among those who exited yesterday were people who had signed up to leave during the days the crossing was closed from June 14-18.
