Fuel shortage continues: only 20% of commercial trucks in Gaza operated today
April 29, 2012: Due to a fuel shortage, only 20% of the trucks that transport goods from Kerem Shalom Crossing into the Gaza Strip operated today. This figure was given to Gisha by Jihad Asalim, executive director of the Association of Private Transportation Companies in Gaza.
The energy authority did not provide diesel to the association and therefore most of the trucks were unable to operate normally. The truck drivers who did work bought diesel off the private market.
