Following court petition: address changed from Gaza Strip to West Bank HCJ 5939/13 Aqal v. Minister of Defense, HCJ 5934/13 Abu Matar v. Minister of Defense

On September 1, 2013, Gisha filed two petitions to the Supreme Court sitting as the High Court of Justice in the matters of Aqal and Abu Matar. The court was requested to compel the authorities to explain why they should not respond to the petitioners’ applications and change their registered addresses from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank.  Over the course of the proceedings, the respondents took the necessary actions to have the petitioners’ addresses changed to the West Bank and issue new ID cards indicating the changed address. With the remedy provided, the petitions were withdrawn.

Aqal – petition dated September 1, 2013 (Hebrew)

Abu Matar – petition dated September 1, 2013 (Hebrew)
