Updates: Rafah Crossing still closed to exit from Gaza
January 16, 2019. On January 6, the PA’s Ministry of Civil Affairs announced its decision to remove its employees from Rafah Crossing between Gaza and Egypt. The continued operation of the crossing, which has been opened consecutively since mid-May 2018 after being mostly closed for five years, is uncertain.
Updates: Rafah Crossing opened twice during April
May 2, 2018. Rafah Crossing was opened for three days last week for movement of people in both directions. Passengers who crossed to Egypt were forced to spend the night at the terminal due to a curfew imposed in Sinai. This was the second opening of the crossing in April.
